Sunny Sam’s magnesium supplement helps calm the body, yes. But behind the label is a quieter effort - one that tries to do right by the planet, too.
We wanted to know what this product really costs: not just in dollars, but in carbon. So we measured it. Every step. From mining minerals to how the packaging gets tossed. What we found: 4.13 kilograms of CO₂ emissions per unit. That’s the footprint. Not invisible. Not ignored. Measured in full, cradle to grave.
The work was done in July 2025, following strict rules from ClimatePartner, who base their process on the GHG Protocol: the global gold standard for measuring greenhouse gas emissions. You can’t fudge the numbers with them. And we didn’t.
Ambitions, Not Excuses
We’ve set reduction targets. Real ones. They name where we need to improve and what’s on the table to change. Packaging. Production. Shipping. But you should know that so far, we haven’t made all of those changes yet. t’s easy to slap a leaf icon on a bottle. It’s a bit harder to reshape a supply chain. We’re working on that.
Putting Resources Where They Matter
While those reductions are still ahead, we didn’t wait to act. We funded a certified climate project that offsets 234,330 kg of CO₂. That’s more than just this product’s footprint. It’s a contribution to global carbon reduction efforts.
Important distinction, though: this doesn’t erase the footprint. It doesn’t give us a halo. It’s a parallel action. Think of it as a down payment on the future we want to live in.
All climate projects we support are third-party verified and aligned with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. They're real. They're audited. They're doing good where it’s needed most.
We’re Not Hiding the Math
If you want to see how this all adds up, you can. The product’s entire carbon story is public. What was counted, what was left out, what we paid for in offsets… it’s all documented through ClimatePartner. No fine print, no green sparkle.
Because when you care about your health, you start noticing the systems that support or harm it. Clean air. Stable weather. A planet that doesn’t feel like it’s holding its breath.
A Small Product. A Bigger Intention.
Sunny Sam’s magnesium isn’t trying to save the world. But it is trying to exist in it responsibly. To be something you can take daily without wondering what it cost the atmosphere. To be honest about the damage, and humble about the fixes.
This is one product. One footprint. One small promise to do better.
And we’re keeping it.
